I've been asked by a few people here, what is a berg, and whats so special about it. I think these videos below do an excellent job at showing how well the bergs can do compared to a shafty. There is a learning curve to driving these vehicles, but the advantages are huge. http://vimeo.com/7527564http://vimeo.com/7766576http://vimeo.com/8984989

wtf i always thought rock crawlers where stupid till now what with the rear wheels dragging to help it go left or right? that was sweet im assuming that was what u where referring to with the learning curve.. doesnt look easy so when are you getting one will? edit, after watching more it looks like hes locking the rear up and letting the front climb till the rears are wedged and then let its go and then they grip since they are wedged sweet

The rear wheels dragging is called front dig, they can also drag the front, which is rear dig. The losi can do this to0, however the benefit of a berg or (MOA- motor on the axle) are a few things. 1. You can control each motor independently, so you can make the front spin faster then the rear to help on climbs. 2. You don't have any driveshafts so you can get crazy ground clearance! 3. Stronger!! I already have the axles at $300 a pop, but saving up for everything else. Soon soon I hope.

I met a guy at RCX with a crawler like that. He liked it a lot, he just said that it is a lot of money to have that set up.
His was so powerful that he jumped over this huge gap from popping the front axle up then literally launching the whole crawler.

William..
With availability to a machine shop I say make your own berg chassis! Ohh
and a cheap axle set. It can be done im sure, haha.
Bergs are just friken awesome. Somebody come out with a comp samurai
body, and some cheap berg axles and my crawler dream is complete.

I am working on a chassis, but its so out of the box its going to be interesting getting it all to work together, but if it does, I'll be famous lol.. Me and my machinist have been toying with the concept for some time. Finally got a set of axles to try it on. The axles are getting down to about $169 a pair, but you still got to put another $300 into them to make them competitive.

I love moa and tried pushing my drift team who are all building crawlers this year to go moa, but we had a team vote and the majority chose shafty, so shafty we will do. That is a sick rig William, thanks for sharing the links!
